  • Is Smart Bill secure?
  • Yes. Security is paramount so we adhere to the same security encryption standards as your bank. Our platform uses 256-bit SSL encryption and asymmetric encryption algorithms to ensure your data is protected to the highest standards 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days of the year.

  • Can you directly access my account?
  • No. We do not have access to your credentials and we do not store them anywhere on our system. Bank-level security is applied when requesting read-only access to your transactions.

  • What do you do with my data?
  • Your data is only used for you and we don't sell or share your data with anyone else.

General

  • Can I add more than one account?
  • Yes. In the "My Accounts" section in your SmartBill account, you can add any UK Bank or Credit Card provider that you are a customer of. We will then aggregate your regular payments across providers into one simple and easy to manage dashboard for your convenience!

  • How does SmartBill make money?
  • We are a 100% free service and we do not bill you for anything.

  • What other features are in the pipeline?
  • We are currently working on a raft of features to bring you money saving ideas straight to your fingertips.

Handling recurring payments

  • How do you find my recurring payments?
  • We have carefully devised a system to identify all of the regular payments being taken from your account. This includes those that are easily visible on your bank statements (i.e. Direct Debits) and also those nasty recurring charges often hidden in your transaction history.

  • How do you cancel my unwanted payment?
  • We contact the biller on your behalf, usually by email, and let them know you have requested us to cancel that payment. We then work to get the payment cancelled as quickly as possible to ensure no more charges are taken from your account.

  • Will I incur cancellation fees from my provider?
  • No. We will not cancel anything on your behalf that will result in any additional charges being applied to your account.

  • How do the price alerts work?
  • We monitor your regular payments and at your request we send you an alert by email as soon as we see that any of your services has changed in price. This may be something you may want to act on (i.e. contact the provider or cancel) or just useful information.

    A monthly summary of this information will also appear in your Smart Bill personal dashboard highlighting all of the price changes in your payments from the last month to the current one.

  • What other alerts can I setup on my account?
  • In addition to the price change alerts, we can send you an alert if you are ever charged more than once for the same service (yes this actually happens!) or whenever your bank takes a fee from your account.
